DVD Review Midsomer Murders Series 1 Midsomer Murders: Series 1 DVD 3-Discs (529 minutes) Released by Acorn Media on July 30, 2013. SRP $59.99 (DVD) Subtitles: English SDH Letterbox One thing I am really happy about is that Acorn Media has re-released the first 5 Series of Midsomer Murders . Since I started to review this series, I have become enamored with it. I originally started much later on the series. I found it to be pretty incredible when I started to watch it but I was curious to see how the series started. I wanted to know more. This was my chance to do so. This re-release of Series One may be one of the first times that the episodes had been released in UK broadcast order. I am not quite sure how they had been released before but I am a big fan of things being released the way they are intended to be seen. This is how it always should be in my opinion. I wasnt sure what to expect from the beginning.   I wasnt sure if this was a proper first episode (like a beginning to...

DVD Review Midsomer Murders Mayhem Mystery Files Midsomer Murders: Mayhem & Mystery Files DVD 15-Discs (25 hours) Released by Acorn Media on September 25th 2012. SRP $149.99 (DVD) I have never said that I knew everything about British television. In fact, what keeps me interested in this subject is watching new things all the time. I love watching programs Ive never seen before that includes actors that I have enjoyed in other series. My major area of interest for British television is generally focused from the 1950s to 1990s. Some of the newer programs may have been lost on me. A lot of casual British television fans have probably seen more of the newer programs than I have but thats fine. I am watching stuff I have never seen before and am enjoying it. Probably one of the biggest revelations Ive had in a long time was setting my eyes on this new set of Midsomer Murders: Mayhem & Mystery Files .   DVD Content: Now, when I got this set I knew that there was a really ...

DVD Review Midsomer Murders The Early Cases Boxset Midsomer Murders: The Early Cases Collection DVD 10-Discs (31 hours) Released by Acorn Media on January 7, 2014. SRP $119.99 (DVD) Subtitles: English SDH 4:3 & 16:9 I am a huge fan of British television, obviously, but I am also a big advocate to set people straight on what British television is about. I think a lot of people in the US dont realize or forget that British television is made up of more real-life television like Special Branch , Z Cars , or Dixon of Dock Green . Not every British television series about a class struggle set in the 1920s or a man who travels through time and space in a Police Box. It is important to know that good British television is made that is not fantastical. Now that I got that rant out of the way, lets talk about fantastical British television. Of course murder is not a fantastical topic. No matter how it is dealt; it is serious and devastating but I have been watching for the past 2 years ...

SRP $49.99 (DVD) $59.99 (Blu Ray) Series 14 of this wonderful murder mystery starts out with a change for everyone. At the end of the final episode of the previous series, Fit for Murder , DCI Tom Barnaby says he wants to retire and he does. We enter into Series 14 with a new face of DCI John Barnaby. He is actually the cousin of Tom. When I say he is a new face that is not entirely true either. John Barnaby first shows up in the Series 13 episode The Sword of Guillaume and Tom Barnabys last episode Fit for Murder . Set 21 covers the first 4 episodes of the 14 th Series, Death in the Slow Lane , Dark Secrets , Echoes of the Dead , and The Oblong Murders . Each episode is 93 minutes which really gives these episodes a lot of time to develop. The development of these episodes is not just confined to how the murder investigations play out. ...

SRP $149.99 (DVD) Subtitles: English SDH 16:9 Im going to have my cake and eat it. I was reading my review I did last year for the DVD set Midsomer Murders: Mayhem & Mystery Files and I was thinking how strange it was to have a period of my life without having this series I could go back to again and again. When I wrote the first review for this series, I knew I was going to like it but I was really surprised by how much I liked it. That DVD set is one that I go back to often. Luckily I have a short-term memory so I am not always sure who the murderer was but I really enjoy the settings and main characters. Purchasing this title from the link above directly helps my site!
